Accessibility

A disability support provider whose own website is hard to use has not thought very hard about who it is for. This site aims to meet WCAG 2.1 Level AA.
What has been done
- Text and background colours tested to meet AA contrast, including the brass used for labels and links
- Every image carries a text description
- Headings are structured in order, so screen readers can navigate by section
- A skip link lets keyboard users jump past the menu
- Every interactive element shows a visible outline when focused
- The whole site can be operated by keyboard alone, with no mouse
- Animation is switched off automatically if your device requests reduced motion
- Text reflows without loss of content when zoomed to 200 per cent
- Form fields have permanent labels, not placeholder text that disappears
- Language is declared in the code, so screen readers pronounce Turkish and Portuguese correctly
- Colour is never the only way information is given
Where it falls short
Being honest is more useful than claiming perfection.
- There is no Easy Read version yet. This is the next thing being worked on.
- The privacy and accessibility pages are currently in English only
- The site has been tested with keyboard navigation and automated checks, but not yet with a broad range of assistive technology users
If something does not work for you
Tell us, and it gets fixed. Email hello@undividedcommunitysupport.com.au or call or text 0414 424 124. Say what you were trying to do and what got in the way.
If you would rather not use the website at all, you never have to. Everything here is available by phone, by text, or in person, and information can be provided in another format on request.
